In Summer 2014, Priory School moved to a newly developed site at an exceptional location on the edge of protected and historic woodland in Hermitage Road, Upper Norwood.
Features of our new school include a shared ‘heart space’ with a gallery, ICT café, parents room, as well as a full range of educational, expressive arts and therapy facilities to enrich our curriculum offer. There is a discrete Post 16 area with its own common room and a life-skills apartment which offers the opportunity for an independent living experience. As part of the development of the unique outdoor space, the school is able to offer a ‘forest school’ approach to outdoor learning and recreational activities, with a creative hub on the edge of the wood.
Other outdoor facilities include a ‘play street’ with outdoor gym equipment, an elevated games court, multi use hard play areas and secure terraces. There is also a horticulture corner with a poly-tunnel and raised beds, and a ‘skywalk’ bridge which allows students to walk from the upper level of the school, through the tree canopies and down into the school’s own forest area.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website. We are still adding information. If you would like to find out more about our school, please do not hesitate to contact us.
